#5 IRELAND
Understanding the
craic! Craic pretty
much translates
as “revelling in the
moment, surrounded
by others, having
an outrageously
pleasurable time” and if you go to Ireland
you must expect to take part.
But don’t be confused when an Irishman asks you: “What’s the craic?” The word also means something like gossip, so expect to spill the beans on all the dodgy things you have been getting up to recently after a few pints of Guinness.
Travel tips from those who know
Here’s a new bit for The File, where you tell us about your tips for travelling. If there’s some essential advice you’ve picked up on your travels email it to us at ryanair.ed@ ink-publishing.com. Make it damn good and we’ll publish it with your name and maybe even find something from the treasure trove of goodies that is the Ryanair editorial desk book stash to send you (so make sure to include your address details). The advice may even seem obvious but that doesn’t matter — it’s the obvious stuff you’re most likely to forget! Here’s a couple from us to get you started.
- Make sure yo u email your itinerary, including flights, hotels and confirmat ion numbers to yourself and your office or family members, so in case your walle t or luggage are stolen /los t all your information is just an inter net click away.
- Tape a b usine ss c ard on your laptop, as a huge number are left be hind at airports ever y day, and with all the new security (like sending it through the X-ray m achine s separately) it’s easy to forget. If your PC is password pro tecte d and not labelled no one wil l be able to identify i t as yours.
