THE RUGBY TAVERN
19 Great James
London
It’s miles fromthe ground, but fans still gather in this well-kept pub near Holborn to watch games. It’s built on land donated by the founder of Rugby School, where the game is said to have originated.

LE RUGBY
2 Rue Roquépine, Paris
Le Rugby is only 12 stops from Stade de France on the Metro’s 13 line, and is a common destination for supporters after a game. As well as terrace chants and TVs showing the matches, expect sing-songs and delicious Auvergne specialities, popularamong France’s fans.

THE OLD ARCADE
14 Church St, Cardiff

Cardiff’s foremost pub for rugby supporters has five plasma screens to view games on. The landlord, Gary, assures us that he will even show the game to his punters out on the street, if weather permits.

THE MURRAYFIELD HOTEL AND LODGE
18 Corstorphine Road, Edinburgh

Right by Scottish rugby’s home ground, the hotel’s rugby-themed bar attracts large crowds on match days. There’s plenty of additional seating in the beer garden, but you’ll have to arrive early to ensure a view.

THE OLD STAND,
37 Exchequer St, Dublin

This supporters’ pub takes its name from a long-demolished stand at Lansdowne Road. The Old Stand often buses its regulars down to games, though they also show matches on the bar’s screens and offer great bar food, too.

FINNEGAN’S IRISH PUB
66 Via Leonina, Rome

Football fixtures tend to dominate in Italy’s sports pubs and bars, but this Irish-owned pub shows Six Nations and British premiership games, and welcomes foreign supporters, too.
