RIVAL HOTEL
“This is my favourite hotel,”
Shayne Ward says of this
cosy boutique hotel. “It’s
owned by Benny from
Abba. It’s in a beautiful
spot, I love the building, the
rooms are very stylish and
we had a great relationship
with the head bar manager,
who always had a nice
drink waiting for me at the
bar… now that’s what I call
service!” Britney and K-Fed
also stayed here while on
Brit’s Onyx Hotel tour.

GUCCI
OK, admittedly it’s hardly representative of the
latest Scandinavian fashion trends, but Beyoncé
did visit the iconic Italian fashion house’s fl agship
store in Stockholm last May, when she was in
town performing at the city’s Globen arena.

- “Take a walk around Djugården, the big central park that used to be the king’s hunting ground.”
- “Catch a movie at Kvartersbion in Hornstull, an intimate cinema that has kept its 1940s-era interior intact. Shows great movies and has a unique atmosphere.”
- “Afterwards have a tunnbrödrulle (a traditional Swedish fl at bread with sausage) at Solgrillen down the street. Try the Solrulle, with lamb sausage, chilli sauce and potatoes in it. Yummy!”
- “Look out for upand- coming Swedish music. Lykke Li, a hotly tipped young singer, has a fantastic voice. Her debut album is produced by Björn Ytlling of Peter, Björn and John [who had a top five hit in the UK with ‘Young Folks’ last year] fame.”
- “Go see Familjen, a techno punk band from the south of Sweden if they are in town. Lyrics are in Swedish but it’s funky and with such great songs you don’t necessarily need to understand what they are saying.”
