Meet the girls who’ll have you fighting over those aisle seats.Photography by Cameron McNee

Usually, if you wanted to catch sight of some heavenly bodies, we’d suggest you sit in a window seat. This might allow you to take in the stars, some faint planetary outlines and, perhaps, a fine view of the moon. However, were you more interested in seeing our very own heavenly cabin personnel, we’d suggest you sit nearer the aisle. As one of Europe’s most dynamic airlines, Ryanair has attracted some of the most youthful, vivacious and downright hottest girls in the industry from across the globe. To celebrate their contribution to highflying passenger care, we flew 12 of our girls out to Girona airport to star in our glamorous aviation-themed 2008 calendar. Read on to meet the kind of flight attendants whose call buttons you’ll really want to be pushing.

ANGELS QUEST
If you want to know where your money is going look no further. All proceeds from our Girls of Ryanair 2008 calendar go to Angels Quest, the Dublin-based charity that has performed wonders for children with disabilities and their families in Ireland. Deidre Kelly founded the charity in 1996 to create respite care homes where both children and parents can rest, relax and socialise with full help provided. So far two respite homes have been opened in Tallaght and Glenageary in Dublin and one in Clane in Kildare. Money raised from this calendar will go in part to fund a new home and specialised equipment in Donabate, Dublin.

VERA
24-year-old Vera Cardoso was born in Portugal and, when it comes to sunbathing, she still plumps for the beaches of Odeceixe, north of the Algarve. Her favourite holiday food is prawns. “They’re tasty, and go well with salad,” she says.
NICOLA
British gal Nicola Koster misses her family most when she travels. “I have seven beautiful nieces and nephews, and they all live close by,” she says. Yet this hasn’t stopped her from holidaying in Cape Town and The Maldives recently.
IRIS
Italian crew member Iris Ghelfiloves her work most in the springtime. “The passengers are always smiling,” she says. When it comes to her homeland, Iris recommends Sicily’s beaches and the streets of Milan, “for shopping, of course”!
