STOP THE BUS FOR a flick at Bambi art house cinema

Almost as bad as the “MTA” (model-turnedactress) is the “STA” (singer-turned-actress). Usually as hammy as a boardroom sandwich and unable to burst into song to redeem themselves, Madonna joins Britney and Beyonce in the “Razzie” hall of fame for worstever celluloid performances (Swept Away).

The Material Girl debuted on screen in 1985 in the low budget and prophetic A Certain Sacrifice (was it ever!). Since then there have been many more not-so-memorable performances, such as Body of Evidence (also won a Razzie). But with a Golden Globe for playing Eva Perón in Evita, Madge can gobble her popcorn with pride at this 1950s-style art house cinema, with it’s high chrome bar stools and circus-like, circular screening room. Bambi also has an outdoor cinema season – perfect if Madge wants to channel Eva and address the crowd during the trailers.

STOP THE BUS FOR afternoon ice-cream from Il Gelato di San Crispino

After all that ab-crunching choreography, a girl can work up an appetite. We say, lose your leotard, Madge, and cool off with a scoop or two from Rome’s best ice-cream vendor. Run by the Alongi family, Gelato di San Crispino has flavours like Chestnut and Rum and AmalfiLemon made with citrus picks from the Amalficoast.

If Madge is worried about the calories and wants to stay whippet-trim, she needn’t bust her Kabbalah bracelet, there’s sorbet too. “The Bilberry” is made from wild berries grown at 1,000m altitudes and packed with pro-vitamin A. Yummy and helps you look young – genius.
