THE GRASSMARKET
A great spot for vintage finds and one-off boutiques. In the shadow of Edinburgh Castle, Grassmarket, is also a pretty area to stroll through with lots of places to eat and drink.

Designer-label addicts need look no further than this brand-heavy shopping haven. You’ll find Louis Vuitton, Emporio Armani and Mulberry all along the same stretch, plus a Harvey Nichols a stone’s throw away. Be prepared to part with some serious cash.
COCKBURN STREET
Away from the tourist trail, Cockburn Street is home to independent music shops and city trendsters. Check out Avalanche and Fopp for some cool tracks.
DRESS LIKE A LOCAL
- Layer up — Edinburgh is chilly, so wear plenty of layers and strip up or down as necessary.
- Bag a cool brolly — for those unpredictable showers.
“I like mixing colours. My jeans are vintage Levi’s and my shoes are from Clarkes.”

“I guess I’m an indie kid at heart – my jacket is Superdry and my shirt is Topman.”
