Hire a bike and pedal to the national park
of Ojcow. You'll need a map, directions and
legs of steel (the park is 17km away over
country paths) but Ojcow's limestone rock
formations, trickling brooks, and tapestry
of autumn leaves are worth the effort.

The first of Krakow's distinctive mounds, Kopiec Krakusa was built back in the eighth century as a pagan tomb for legendary city founder Prince Krak, while the last, constructed in 1934, serves as a tribute to the military genius of General Tadeusz Kosciuszko. Climb either for superb vistas over town.
